Partial workThomas L. Kinkead
Work coverage: The Catechism with Kinkead's explanations, all 37 Lessons and all 421 questions, Q. 1 to Q. 421 (the numbering of the Baltimore Catechism No. 2), each question with its answer and its explanation a section of its own. Not included: the approbations, the preface, the explanations of the prayers that precede the Catechism (The Lord's Prayer to the manner of lay baptism, printed pages 9 to 33), the list of questions on the explanations and the general index at the end, and the publisher's advertisements.

- Revision
- The Project Gutenberg #14554 text, which was made from a later revised reprint, was collated word by word, in position, against two independent OCR passes of this 1891 scan (the Internet Archive's own text and tesseract 5 at 300 dpi); wherever the two differ the print is followed, every doubtful place was read on the page image, and the passages the reprint rewrote were read whole from the page. A printer's misspelling (profesison, Q. 250) is corrected, and "A." is supplied before the two answers printed without it (Q. 176, Q. 337). Running heads, folios and a footnote that repeats the note on the asterisk are left out. Quotation marks are set typographically.
