Saint Nicetas was bishop of Remesiana in the Balkans and a missionary and catechetical writer. Surviving works associated with him explain the creed, Christian initiation, the names of Christ, and the value of psalmody. He was a friend of Paulinus of Nola. Some traditional attributions, including authorship of the hymn Te Deum, remain uncertain.
